Dog care
For your dog's health and well-being, there are a number of things you need to take care of. To take good care of your dog, you need to understand and consider many things, from nutritional needs to exercise and grooming.
Work out
All dogs need exercise, but the amount and type of exercise depends on their age, size and breed.
Make sure you have space to exercise. Dog walking shouldn't be considered just a quick potty break.
Take small, frequent walks. Medium-sized and large-sized dogs have a long growth period during which bones and joints develop. So, walk them little and often until they are fully grown.
Make time for play. Play is a natural part of dog exercise and helps with psychological development. Spending time with your dog can strengthen your bond, control your dog's weight, keep him energized, and strengthen his cardiovascular and immune systems.
Environment
Behavioral development in young puppies takes place in several stages, including the socialization period, which lasts from 4 weeks up to 14 weeks.
Trauma, especially during the socialization period, can result in permanent fears. Therefore, from the first day of adopting a dog , you must pay close attention to the puppy's environment.
Please make a bed. Your dog needs a bed in which he can feel safe.
Provide a stimulating environment. For example, a large box to hide in or a chewable rubber toy.
Get used to the new environment gradually.
Please train alone. Dogs sometimes need to learn to be alone.
Introduce your dog to other dogs. It's a good idea to meet other animals to help with socialization.
Take them outside. Puppies start exploring their surroundings after 2 months of age.
Feeding
As puppies grow, their nutritional needs change. At first, small amounts of food should be fed several times a day, but as the dog becomes an adult, it should be gradually reduced to one or two times. Water should always be available and should not be over-feeded.
Ultimately, feed provides energy, but it also builds and maintains the body's cells, preventing digestive, skin, teeth, joints and age-related diseases. Nutritious kibble combines the right amount of nutrients.
Do not change feed suddenly. Feed your dog the food he ate before he first came home. To change the food, mix the old and new food in varying proportions and gradually change over the course of a week.
Prepare food appropriate for your age.
Feed at a certain time and place.
Give snacks as an exception, not a regular one. In order to maintain your dog's ideal body weight, treats should be given exceptionally. Sugar and chocolate are prohibited. Low-calorie kibble pellets can be used as a training aid.
Beauty and health
Regular grooming is a good habit. This will help improve the health of your skin and hair as well as your bond with your caregiver. In addition, abnormalities such as external parasites and skin diseases are more likely to be detected early. Help them get used to beauty at a young age.
Start taking care of your teeth at a young age. Brush your dog's teeth several times a week to get them used to brushing with a dog toothbrush and toothpaste.
Please get vaccinated. Vaccinations help prevent communicable and deadly diseases. Some vaccinations are required and some are recommended. The vaccination program is usually started between 6 and 8 weeks of age.
Ask your veterinarian about larvae. Young puppies are often infested with larvae and should be dewormed monthly until 6 months of age and then every 6 months thereafter.
Protect from fleas and ticks. Seek advice from your veterinarian.
Consider neutering your pet.
Training
Puppy training programs should begin early, when puppies show excellent learning abilities.
Potty training: When your dog first comes home, it's very likely that he hasn't been potty trained. Training takes time and patience. Even if you do something wrong, don't punish or scold.
Start memory association training early. Pronounce the name slowly and clearly at the beginning to get attention, and say it every time you say a command.
Get used to the car gradually. It is a good idea to accustom your child to riding in a car early on.
There is a lot of information you need to know to care for your dog, but if you understand and care for it, you will have no trouble developing your relationship with your dog. Seek your veterinarian's advice on anything you're not sure about.
